Today, I saw your tears
And I didn't know what to do
I knew the pain you felt inside
For I have been there too
I wanted to console you
Take your hand, hold you tight
To share my love and understanding
Or share your pain and tears, if I might
But this place and time were wrong
Though yes, I cry for you inside
I cannot show you all I feel
I'll hold back, or at least I'll try
My heart breaks to feel your loss
Of someone to you, so dear
He, who meant so much to you
So close in heart, though not near
I cry for you tears of sadness
While this to you I'll say
Eternal rest for him, peace be unto you
To the Lord, this night, I'll pray
