As I look around I know I have let everyone down
What kind of person Have I become I have turned into scum I disappointed myself And all those close I can't go back My consience is under attack
I can not live with myself I no longer know who I am So much regret Too much to just let it be I want back the old me
When I look in the mirror I see a person That I hate This person ruined everything great This person who is staring back It can't be Please don't let it be This person is me

This poem relates very well, those shocking periods of self-realization, when a part, or parts of yourself or your (all of us, in general) world is opened up, like an ugly, squirming can of worms.
I makes me think, and look back.
Good write. |
