Who Would Care?

Topic: SadPoetry

I died todaybut thats not why Im so very sad
Not one person seemed to care, not even my own dad
I watch them carry my body, the grave is its direction
It seems I wasnt loved enough to get a funeral procession
Something must be wrong I think: Maybe I just missed it!
But that is not the casethey lower me into the pit
No ones there to say goodbyejust the two men shovelling dirt
My soul now feels so lonely; God I wish this didnt hurt

I go to my house, to see why my parents werent even there
Theyre playing with my brotherthis pain is too much to bear
It seems I was forgotten way before I grabbed that gun
No one showed up to say goodbye, not even the shining sun
I head to see my best friend, why couldnt he even come?
Hes on a date with his girlfriendIm starting to feel so numb
I head to see my girlfriend; maybe she just couldnt make it
Shes in bed with one of my friends; my soul now feels so naked

I go see one last person: a girl I loved so much
But I never let her know; I was too afraid of denials touch
Shes sitting in her roomher eyes are so very red
Shes shaking so bad its hard for her to stay upon her bed
Her sheets: theyre soaked with too many heartfelt tears
Her door is locked, theyre knocks she doesnt seem to hear
Over and over, she just keeps asking herself why:
She never got to say I love you, or hear that last goodbye

Scared I jerk up straight and find Im sitting in my bed
Whewit was just a dream, but I can still see her inside my head
I try and try but it seems that I cannot fall back asleep
Alone I sit and think of lifesilently I start to weep
I wonder when that last day comes, when I finally say goodbye
Would anybody notice Who would care? Who would cry?
I vow right then that if I die, if something does go wrong
Inside I want this girl to know: Ive loved her all along

This is a powerful write, such good imagery and flow. Ilove the end how its all a dream, and the realisation of the special girl. I really like this, excellent poem

This was an amazingly deep and powerful poem Military... You portrayed all the feelings of loneliness and dispair in perfection. Great write. Cant wait to read more.
