Cast my mind Time was wasting Thoughts ran too far a distance And stole too much of What might have been spent And my sorry flesh weeps With sweat In the heat of Too many regrets And grief Yes, we became something Still was that enough When we had yet to sow And you ached so to reap More than I was willing And for you to deny me blame In this case I cannot accept My fault lies deep Buried with the us that was, The us that could have been.

Excellent. I feel it's one of those poems that can be read and interpreted more than one way. Which in my opinion is the best kind. |
