Sometimes you're lucky enough to hear
A song on the radio that draws a tear
There's always a tune that brings memories clear
Of that special someone you hold so dear
But what happens when no matter what song they play
You think of that person every minute...every day
In your mind you serenade the love songs to them
When a rock song plays, you'll daydream again
You're playing in concert, and they are right there
You can picture it so clearly; the wind blows through their hair
It's when you can't get someone out of your mind
It's when someones beauty should drive you blind
It's when you wait up each night for a call
It's when someone has your heart in thrall
It's when you feel love's sweetest kiss
It's when you live, each day in bliss
Though it seems that this lady is out of my league
My heart yearns for something it will never receive
It seems fate's list didn't include me and her
Yet she is the one my heart will always prefer
It's now that I know I need to let go
So this is my last hurrah, a chance to show...
That I have felt what most people seek
True love has went and left my heart weak
It's when you know it can never work
It's when you've found love's unspoken quirk
It's when your heart must surely break
It's when you find an incurable ache
It's when you realize you've dreamed too long
It's when you wake up and find that youre wrong
It's when you just don't know what to say
It's when your heart feels this utter dismay
It's when each day you wonder why...
Your heart must finally say goodbye...

| This must've been hard to write. It show s a lot of maturity to move on even when life hurts. This is a great poem for that reason. |

This is a great poem Military. The ideals and topics you relate in this remind me a lot of my own poem, "Is Never Better"... It's much better to never have it, so at least the dream can stay alive. Thanks for sharing.
