Stars

Topic: selfstruggles

Have you ever looked at the stars,
And thought about the stories they tell?
I do that all the time.
The stars-
They're so beautiful.
So bright, bold, and twinkling.
Just like I used to be.
Why do they only come out at night,
When not many people can see them?
Why are they afraid to hide their beauty?
The stars talk to me.
They tell me I'll be okay.
I want to believe them.
Gazing at the star-filled sky,
I am once again amazed at their beauty.
Scattered throughout the sky like glitter;
Such a perfect picture.
I look up at the velveteen sky,
With all of its twinkling stars.
And I always wondered what it would be like,
To be one of them.
To come out when not everyone can see,
And hide when they can.
The stars hide so well;
I envy them.
I let my mind wander,
As I gaze once again at the midnight sky.
And I wonder what it would be like,
To just detach myself from this very world,
And float up and join them.
To leave all the pain...

I have a telescope and I often sit out on our
deck at night and look at the stars
and let my mind drift away to the unknown
So I like your poem thanks for sharing
