Before you try to save me
Please save yourself
Now I know you hate
To see pain screaming
Just the way your pain does
I understand wanting to help
Because that's how I am too
Empathy hurts the worst
As you feel the pain too
Just relax and stop fighting
No need to get upset
When I question or play
To help another requires
Honesty and trust both ways
When you try to help the hurt
You are always dealing with
A hurt, cornered and scared animal
So you must expect them to bite
Look at the scars I wear
Each one from helping another
All you can do is clench your teeth
And bear the pain felt
Those meant to fly high on wings
Deserve to have them unclipped
They shouldn't be caged unwillingly
You can't obtain them
Unless they come freely
Just remember that
Healing hands are scarred.

I thought this was kind of awkwardly written, but I liked the overall message which is so true. Don't know how I missed this one.
