Upon that sallow sunset in a sleepy summers stream
We met in hapless countenance and stalwart maples splay
A sugar-coated river rolling sugar-coated dreams
Yet somehow little messenger, you didnt run away
I never knew what jewel it was that twinkled in your eye
An cobalt call to confidence, a bond no words could tie
Your carefree step inveigled all the wisdom as it lie
The question never passed your mind
You knew that you could fly.
And therefore in the sunny glade, harsh words were born to me
In silent stare the daylight spilt across the visions sea
A pool of golden, rolling blades, upon the golden stream,
You taught the truth that all you wish
Is all youll never be.
And dreams will bear each wistful soul to castles in the air
Escapist claims to royalty deliver au contraire
A shattered child of blinded hope demised beyond repair
And yet you say that none of that was ever even there.
In songbirds tuneless melodies and natures fresh nave
A note of truth irreverent no reason could deceive
In harmony with gratitude, in step with leafy sleeves
You taught that in the flood of life
There isnt time to grieve
And I never knew, despite my tries,
To see what jewel beset your eyes
To see what gift had given thee thy mirth

Although you never thought of it your wings set free my dreams)
You skittered left, and spread, bereft
The chasm to you but a cleft
You flew away in giving to this earth.

Providence is a favourite subject of mine.
This is probably the best thing I've read on that subject, plus a good few others, to boot.
Wisdom and grace, intertwined and combined in mellifluous trace out from pen; from your mind . . .

Skillfully worded message, as flawless a flow as could be wished . . . basically, your poetry at its finest :).
