This Longing

Nostalgic

I almost remember a time of great happiness: it comes to me vividly in lucid dreams of fantasy with the whispers of nostalgia that ache this thirsty heart.
I almost remember a time of great sorrow: when feelings played tricks on me, and I knew myself to be the only one who knew the truth of life and of dying.
I almost remember a time of great longing: of unfulfilled dreamings and inspired hopes to be somebody; loved by a rare one who understood me, loving he who did.
Today, still, I can be happy, and sadness is no distant friend. But mostly I long for those dusty memories, already fading from this life-filled mind I long to remember them. With peace.

"life-filled mind" = Great word choice there. That, and what everyone else has already said. Keep it up, Butterat Zool. |
