Painting on Pot

Contributed by Ina on Saturday, 12th June 2004 @ 12:19:24 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Brown beads
inside my eyes
melt into
my s p i n e

my canvas
is an icy gravestone
white like an Alaskan sky

she paints me

I cut a circle
inside a flowering shrub
with my paint brush

inside the
green window
I see two
trees licking
leaves
and
hair

a n d
a chimney
smoking herb

she paints me

canvas
in hand
I walk
out of the
dyed garden
because
night
burns the brushes

black dust
smeared
all over my painting
like
a sweet childs voice

excuse me excuse me ex

little
Mexican
girl
wearing
a thrift-ian dress
runs
in
to
me

hands
me a purple
banana
flower

I
twirl the gift
clumsily

high up in the air

she
smiles
she bows
she smiles

like a trick of the eye

singing
she finishes painting me
holding the flower

on her canvas I am
a land-escape

my canvas is white

I turn around
and round and round

and bump
into a

cop

Man, pot freaking rules. That's all I got to say, and I really liked this poem. Very much.
