We were stronger together
Than either one of us apart.
The distance in between us now
A burdened load for a branded heart-
Keeping your secrets in me,
Wishing it were like it used to be,
Holding you, but only in my dreams.
It becomes so easy to remember when,
you know that you can't ever touch me again.
So wrong for you to throw dirt back in my face,
Memories you should have left with me, for keeping safe.
It doesn't hurt you, that which brings tears to my eyes
Cause you don't ever have to watch me cry,
Feel me fight off the urge to lay down and die-
With you.
I'll keep your secrets in me
I'll wish for all we didn't get to be,
And I'll be holding you, but only in my dreams.
