I used to believe in love
thinking there was truth underlying
something more than a fairytale
something more than a daydream
I used to believe in love
I used to believe in life
I used to believe in success
I used to believe in you and I
Fairytales are dying
all the children crying
drugs now cease the pain
it'll be back again
the heavens cry tears of rain
The rainbows now have an end
Its rare to find a true friend
It seems you have an ego
falling into a stereotype you call your own
I do believe in love to a certain extent
don't get me wrong
I don't believe everyone finds it
or is capable of being loved
Don't believe I'm pessimistic
because I do know of things
worth my time
but sadly enough my hopelessness
seeks refuge in death
How could I want to further my education
and compromise my beliefs
the more intelligent I become
the more insane

how well i can relate to this poem...i could have written it myself...thank you for the comments on my poetry, by the way, and i shall be sure to check out more of your poems....if you do the same for me :-).
