The gift of water
Brings life and fertility to aching lands,
Quenches the thirst
Of outstretched hands,
And runs through my country tonight.
Although some would argue,
It's force is evil,
Brings death and destruction,
If ever misplaced,
But perhaps it's more of a sign,
For all of mankind,
To stop making the Earth so defaced.
