This time is borrowed
And limited
Within its hands
He's setting out
Further than I can reach
Beyond and far into
Something more
Than offered here
And still
It's a given
That I take this loan
For the interest of him
And spend wisely
What he has so kindly
Sought to share
Before time takes
What needs be
And he has gone
Having more than borrowed
My heart.
