there is a girl
she is an artist
a mysterious soul is she
a humorous burst of sunshine
a ray of wit and wisdom
she knows what will be is what will be
she lives inside the pages
of a leather-bound sketchbook
amongst the limbs of an enchanted elm tree
she draws and paints
'til the sun's asleep
and dreams when the moon comes out to play
creating poetry with pencils and a paintbrush
a gallery of timeless masterpieces
a piece of her in each one
a sky filled with hopes
an ocean full of talent
she draws her passions under the light of the sun
and one magical day
one mystical, enchanted day
that silver moon will notice her starlight dreams
and on that star-speckled evening
the fireflies will wake her
and the moon will send down to her a misty moonbeam
and that moonbeam will carry her so high
so high up in the sky
so far off of the ground
on that day she'll fly
on that day she'll soar
her dreams will be so solid, so sound
her life will shine and shimmer
but her soul will stay the same
that sweet young girl she will always be
there is a girl
she is an artist
a sparkling soul is she
