everynight i lay awake thinking of the perfect person
wishing and dreaming i could be laying with him
longing to be held securely in his loving arms
dying to feel his sweet soft lips against mine
night after night i pondered what it would be like
how amazing it would be to have someone that
wonderful
to be in love with someone that loved me in return
be able to show them my love in every way possible
day after day i was dissapointed because i didnt
have that
i was in a relationship yet i felt so unloved
my feelings and my heart didnt matter to him
you walked into my life with the love of yours
i sat two seats away from you and loved bein so
close
jealousy overcame as i thought of how much she meant
i would have given anything to be in her place
to sit so close to you, to know you cared about me
time went on and you remained in love with her
i was happy because you were, thats what i wanted
all ive ever wanted was for you to be happy
i just hoped and dreamed that you'd be happy with me
then i heard of all the pain she was causing you
it tore me apart to know that you were hurting
i wanted to be there for you and hold you close
but i was afraid to show my love to you
teriffied you wouldn't feel the same towards me
days drifted on by and i always wished you were mine
longed to be that girl that brightened your day
to be the person you cared for more than anything else
i became closer with your sister and got to see you
stayed the night at your place and was so close
i was so close to you yet so far away from your heart
you had no idea how much i wanted to be with you
you wrapped your arms around me and i was in heaven
never wanted to leave that comforting place in time
thought you had feelings for me but i wasnt for sure
didnt wanna tell you and you not feel the same way
talk with your sister gave me so much hope and joy
finally i told you my feelings and let it all out
confessed how much i wanted to be with you
amazed and astonished you told me the same in return
the weight was lifted off my chest and i could breathe
my day seemed so much brighter my life so much better
i now had something, someone to look forward to
everynight i lay awake thinking of you
