Who do you think you are; pray tell?
Some great person? The balls belle?
You occasionally lie, swears slip from your lip
Your decisions can be faulty, especially when they turn against you, and then you trip
How can you even try and defend yourself?
Making excuses to everyone else
No ones perfect, you say.
Everyone makes mistakes, From your mouth you spray
Your soul is hideous
The way transgressions spread within you is more than insidious
Everyone can see that youre covered in spots and stains
That detestable sin pulsates throughout your veins
Do you really think God loves a degenerate like you?
Do you really believe that Christ loves you too?
Because your offenses are many
And well, your good deeds arent exactly of plenty
But you know what?
I know a little secret thatll get you out of your rut
Its just the right thing for a person like you
And it doesnt matter if right up until now you never knew
You can forget all your previous, and possibly shady dealings
For no matter how much you act or seem like someone whos depriving the world of the oxygen youre stealing
No matter if you make a thousand mistakes
And no matter how many forbidden things you partake
I know this someone wholl forgive it all
And you know what? He already has... Now that I recall
Hell take you under his wing
Along with all your indiscretions. Every little thing.
And all you have to do is do your best to follow his rules
Im admitting theyre a bit tough because I know youre no fool
But trust me in saying that theyre definitely worth abiding
And this guy, he knows all, so theres no use for any attempts at hiding
Though the best thing of all that most people adore
Is that he already loves you and he will forever more
In fact he loves you so much hes already saved you at the expense of his life
This man, hes my best friend, and his names Jesus Christ
