So Im telling you a joke
Youre looking me in the eye
You know damn well it wont be funny
I love that about you
You encourage the positive side of me
Because everything we do is to create a memory
You smile
You look down
Then you look away
I can guarantee that someone wants you today
So Im recalling a painful memory
You listen silently to my every word
I know you dont know what to say
But I dont care
I can sense you listening to me
And you turn this into a loving memory
I smile
I look down
Then I look away
I feel so wanted today
So Im staring straight ahead in silence lost in thought
You turn and quietly ask if Im okay
The concern in your voice makes me smile
Because I know that even still everything will be alright eventually
Its what you taught me, it will create a memory
I smile
You look down
Then you look away
I silently wish this memory will never fade away
You smile

Then I look away
You dont know it but I felt my heart beat today
