Can you hear them cry at night?
The thousand lost souls who roam the land
Vacant stares emit from shop doorways
Sleeping bag rags held tight in the wind
The nameless, homeless, victims of society
Sip noisily from their brown paper bags
Looking hungrily towards the dozens of youth
Pouring out of the Pizzeria at 2 am
Like brainless ants
Who dont care
Who point and laugh
Who spit and shout
How do you get like that? You dirty vermin!, they say in spite
It can never happen to me! Another mumbles
Yet the young lad in the bed of cardboard remembers
He was too like them..

great poem, I have written one simular called the homeless guy and I will be posting it in an hour or so, would love you to read it when I do and tell me what you think?
