The Shadow Of Doubt

Contributed by Justalady on Monday, 21st June 2004 @ 08:21:15 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

A shadow crossed my path today,
a grey line of doubt.
This shadow had an uncertain voice
that quivers in my inner-self.

It wasn't so much what it said,
but how it felt within the cavity
of my body, the depth of my soul.
The part I thought was unreachable.

It weaves itself like spiderwebs
in my thoughts, trying to catch
what I know to be truth and need,
this greyness shall not become darkness.

I will fight it like the ememy
it appears to be, and chase the voice
of uncertainy away, the quiver will
leave like the night, as the sun rises.

Deep emotional poem. I like the way you describe it as spiderwebs and how when the night fades away the sun rises and everything is okay. Good Write.

Great imagery, and very easy to read. Nice pacing. We all fight doubt and this expresses the struggle beautifully.

Ah with such a sweet and beautiful heart, I know you will win every fight. May the sweet sunshine fill everyday for you.

Thank you June, this was beautiful.
