Have a mission
To raise the consciousness
Of the indifferent masses,
And beat the drums for those that cannot beat
They have to bring to memory
Greatness-, and ring the bell
Because they are
poets.
Poets
Must come to grips
With issues of their day,
Independent of approval,-
Create a legacy for the Unsung,
Ready and willing to forego
Cheers and encomium-
If they be true
poets.

And not write poetry
just to get the comments of our peers.
Speak out when necessary, whether a poet be popular or not.
