Sonnet 23: Panacea

Just too damn many cars on rural ways; Like excess ice that makes the flavor bland Theres no time for simplicity of days; The tide stole all the beauty from the sand
My inabilities had pulled me in And I, the hart, was blinded by your touch; But pestilence consumed me in my sin, And now I see I must escape your clutch
The only panacea in my reach Is that of freedom; set me from your hold; And if I can diverge from shell and beach No longer will I bear the title sold
The remedy I seek is not of norm; My cure comes in an unexpected form

Thanks for your comment. I've read your pieces and I really enjoyed them. Your sonnets are put together well, and im impressed. Sonnets are so timeless yet "modern" writers rarely utilize the poetic device. I'd love to read more, my email is sre23@yahoo.com. You can email me whenever you want with anything you've written.
