Once there was a man Who cried until his death. He drowned in tears And washed away Until nothing was left. He filled the world While whippoorwills Chirped and were befeft. The tears he cried were not enough To show just where he stood. When they were gone, He carried on, And cried out tears of blood. He cried until his bones were dry Yet soaked the whole way through. He cried until his will was broke, And poisoned his worldview. He cried until the ocean king Was drowned and overthrew, And claimed himself the seamans crown And cooked albatross stew. He cried for stupid sinners And he cried for phallic saints. He cried for whimsys wishes And his blood was Martian paint. He cried for mans downfalling And he cried for mans downfell. He cried for those in heaven While he cried for those in hell. He cried into convulsions until he destroyed himself. He cried away the Reason And he cried away the wealth. He cried because of beauty And the greatness he had seen. He cried while in Gods presence, and he cried with ghosts unseen. A sight so vastly holy That he cried away the world That is what I picture when I think of you, my girl.
