less time stopped ticking
trees line the boulevard
cars rush by with headlights on
impersonal parade
passes by without a sound
steady splash of rain on glass
wrapped in religions gentle shawl
mumbled prayers by candlelight
driven by our mortal fears
life hangs in the balance
sweetened by the taste of tears
discontented life's affairs
seem less important moments
rendered speechless from here
coughing up remorse
chewing on insanity of being
more or less is never a question
anyone can answer without lying
pale face contorted with pain
renders me helpless in the face of god
with his hands of gold and eyes of steel
my lip bleeds persistently
in constant fear of losing you
less time forgets who we are
once we have gone
