STONE COLD IN THE GROUND

Contributed by steeleyes on Thursday, 24th June 2004 @ 03:48:35 AM in AEST
Topic: political

Dishonesty in politics
It is the usual mix
But the current crew
Have duped many more of you

They sold you lies
Hand on heart
They used your grief
A war to start

With no moral reason
Just fabricated facts
They proceeded to commit
Unjustifiable acts

10,000 died in the attack
And 10,000 have died since then
Bush and Cheney told the lies
They are the guilty men

We all know about politics
It is a dirty game
But these men hit new lows
And brought you all to shame

And yet they crow
Repeating lie on lie
They cant admit their fraud
Even as Iraqis die

They took an unhappy land
And created an anarchy there
Chaos rules Iraqi lives
Bush really doesnt care

Except to fabricate more lies
Saying everything is fine
Faking pseudo sovereignty
Lying right down the line

There is no sovereignty
Not in anything but a name
This is just a faade
An ugly political game

To make the president seem
Less than the schmuck he is
To get your November votes
Saying There is no crisis

Paper over the cracks
Come the 30th of June
Slap a bumper sticker
Sing an anthem tune

Pretend its a bright new day
Let all the fanfares sound
As 20,000 innocent Iraqis
Lie stone cold in the ground
