I'm sorry.
So sorry.
I can't do it.
I love you
So much.
I'm so scared
Of the pain you predict.
Every person
I've ever loved
Has chipped
My heart away.
Every single one
And, naive as always,
I love again.
Even though you warned me.
Every word you say
You stick to.
Every promise you've told me
You've kept.
I've been waiting in the puddle of my misery
For you to lie, to hurt
To break me....
And you haven't.
That's what's scary.
You're true.
You're real.
I've never seen that before.
So I cling to the God,
To the truth I see in You,
But my hope is clouded
By pessimistic thoughts.
The thought that one day
You'll cause me more pain than anyone
Because I love you more than any other.
My young, trusting heart will be my folly.
But I love you still,
For my heart's in control.
Forgive my doubts.
Forgive my pain.
I'm sorry.
You deserve better.
I'm sorry.
So sorry.

| Wow, what you say is exactly what i did to guys. I wasn't capable of love because i had gotten crushed one time, and i ran away from anything that even smelled like a relationship. I hope you learn to love again...the poem was very lovely, please keep writing! |

I have broken up with my b/f 2 times before. The first time because he said he loved me and I was scared. The second time because I love him and know that someday there will be an end. This poem kind of takes me to how I feel about all of that. Wonderfully written.

Don't be sorry for loving someone. Your heart is the most precious gift you can give. Don't feel guilty. I love you too, Carrie, and I'm not sorry about it. I couldn't deserve better. I don't deserve you.
