Im just a pawn in lifes game,
Ingesting hurt & living through pain,
Moving across the board year after year,
Sharing a joke or crying a tear.
Standing in line with other chess pieces,
As I move forward my sadness decreases,
But as I move back happiness slips away,
But I live on to fight another day.
Trying to reach the other side,
Sometimes walking against the tide,
With the weight of the world upon me,
Trying regardless to break free.
We are all taking part,
& have been right from the start,
The game began when we were born,
Near the ending we are all well worn.
Wanting to give up when its hard,
Chuck it in when we feel too scarred,
We are all the willing players,
In this game that has so many layers.
