_Oh how sweetly do the breezes blow on heated summer days, Upon those wholl never know the sacrifice we made._ In far off distances you see us but quickly turn away. We, the unnamed, who let you sleep at night You dream on, not knowing you are safe because we exist Smile and ignore the obvious. Never to thank us, our justification does not come from you Night is deep and Day merely lighter Yet all safe, you content in your ignorance we see things you dare not, could not see Fight the things you never would You feel us, yes, you feel us We are the calm you feel when you turn on the light Or wake in panic from a dream to find all around you peaceful We hunt and annihilate the worst kind of evils. We face the horrors that haunt your soul Only we keep them solely in your seldom nightmares You wont believe they are real Disappointed that they are imagined Take heed and stay with mere imagination Keep your pleasant lives and dreams We shall keep guarding, as we have always guarded.

A little explination about the title. "Curfidian" is a name I created from two latin words that can be translated together as "faithful guardian" or "a caring one who is faithful". The creature who is "telling" this poem is named Curfidian. I hope that clears some things up. |
