The Night Stalker (Lee-Smith)

Contributed by Beadle on Saturday, 26th June 2004 @ 07:44:11 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

The night stalker strikes,
He knows not why,
But thats not the truth,
That is a lie, so tell them why,
He sez he did it for love,
And expects not everyone to understand,
It wasnt that well planned,
He did it on impulse for that is him,
He was not sure what it would achieve,
To be closer to her, all he could conceive,
Scared and lonely as he walks down the road,

Crazed and sweating hes in the zone,
His instincts are right first time,
He strangely fits this unusual crime,
Out of character for him to do,
But the mechanism is always true,
For he is the night stalker,
But he always loves,
Theres no limits or lengths to which he would not go,
This is freakish but he wants you to know,
Does he dare go down the turning,
The question for which you are yearning,
Like his heart that does the same for her,
Which brings him oh so near,

He wonders what he was thinking,
He did but once hesitate,
He got lost first times in the dark but wait,
He feels some type of regret,
Yet, ah but yet,
Cries of But I tried, but I tried,
I know, I know that it was wrong,
But for without we would not have this song,
For he is The Night Stalker,
That hopes not to get caught,
Walks back to the station if he does its his own fault,
He thinks but twice he may have been found out,
But all seems safe as he looks about,
So off our somewhat hero goes,
For he did it for love this much he knows,
He dared not go up to the door But stopped at number twenty-four,

He hears the hoppers,
Smells the freshly cut,
As a shade of orange floods his guilty face,
