What is High School?

High School is pressure
High School is pain
every deep hurt
like a dark cloud of rain.
High School is friends
that aren't even there
in your time of need
no one seems to care.
High School is pot,
crack, snuff, and beer,
but when the headlights go on
you're trapped like a deer.
High School is knowing
that you'll be out on your own
just a few years to go
then no parents to hear you groan.
High School is crushes
that don't seem to go away
they linger to hurt you
day after painful day.
High School is jocks,
preps, nerds, and geeks,
to the popular kids
we're all labeled freaks.
There is no love in High School
there is only deep sorrow
and it hurts me to think
that I'll be there tomorrow.

| Oh wow, you captured it so well. so well written. the flow is excellent and so is the diction. Not only that, you seemed to convey with such ease the more unpleasent side of high school. Very general but still a definate 5. |

Well, I guess I missed out an all of that... I was homeschooled. But, hey, take hope, be strong. It won't always be that way. There are some people like you who also look for true friendship.
