through the darkest forest, up the steepest mountain balanced on top of the highest peak
lies the gloomiest fortress, the most wicked count, and the dungeon of the deserted, dying, and weak
too high for the sun too cold for the wind too far for the bravest knight to continue
no reason to run soaked in your sin no valor left now, none to defend you
infinite rain to dampen our will the count needs little effort to dictate
self-inflicted pain hopeless still even the strongest shant survive this fate
here we are kept shackled to stone hoping tomorrow will bring an end
wishing we slept or that sun shone or that peak would no longer suspend
but time keeps taunting and count keeps guarding and no light shall ever be seen
no use in wanting no hope for parting alive, but perhaps weve never been
