Time and again, I feel this way. Not quite clean, And full of shame. When you left me, Broken hearted, There I stood, Shattered and departed. Every face I see these days, Somehow looks like you. Strangers with your eyes, Your voice. Tonight I find myself again, Incapable of washing guilt, From my skin, body spent. A night of loving another man, Who had your scent, And took me home, Because I felt like I could find, A little left of you in him. One after another, I pile up name after name, Of men I meant to replace you, But they're simply not the same. The water hot, My heart cool, I hate myself, For being a fool. I should have known, Since the last time too... But I can never stop searching, And looking for you...
