truely rare

Contributed by ladyfawn on Tuesday, 29th June 2004 @ 12:45:22 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

you were my one and only soulmate
my only truelove
now you reside in the stars above
we loved each other with all of our hearts
when death took you away it tore my world apart
i do not believe for me there will ever be another
for life was once rolling in clover
laughter florished everywhere everyday, in all ways
there was a goal to this life
when i was your wife
now i muddle through
spend big parts of life blue
no one else will ever compare
to this love that was
truely rare

i do not know why i write of you
who held my heart so dear
it isn't like you will know
or ever really hear, yet
somewhere deep inside me i
still feel you near
and you help me live out each day
no matter what comes my way
you are my loving soulmate
forever and a day, the only
one who can make me
un-lonely

tears in my eyes as i write this
after all these years i miss your kiss
life would be so much better
if you were still here, lived in bliss
so much of living would matter
our family together, maybe
i still think of you as 'far from home'
as eternally your soul roams
someday i will find paradise in your arms again
although i do not know how or where or when
so many dreams we had died with you
life is not the same
still i carry your name
i write into the universe
share my heartfelt simple verse
for no one else will ever compare
to our love that was so
beautifully
truely rare

Being your one and only true soul mate I know he heard these words, felt them as you wrote, and stands behind you as you grieve. He will never leave you. That's what makes your love so rare, you know, he'll always be there. This is beautiful. Sadness fills my eyes for such a beauty to feel so alone. Just know, you're never alone. 0:-)
Angel always... Joni

Nessa; this does so touch my heart and soul as I know this loss. Life does stop being real and becomes a carousel of mornings and nights and hours spent in between trying to fill them up. The loss is ever present and life constantly reminds you they are gone. Find happiness the best you can, until you are together again, my sweet friend.

Hugs,
Rita

Crushingly melancholic/nostalgic/inspirational.

Its better to have loved and lost . . . than to have never loved at all - that's my ticket, and you seem to have epitomised this sentiment in a way, with this poem of yours.

At the very least, you can say that at the end of your days, you found your soulmate . . . some people go lifetime over lifetime on this wheel without that rare kind of discovery.

Truly heartfelt, nessa - thanks so much for sharing this one.

my tears make it hard for me to write a comment - I cannot imagine dealing with such a loss - but one day you will be together again - because that is the way of soulmates.

Following quotation from Picasso, about the art he is referring to: "I have never painted anything but what I saw with my eyes." ...There is harmony and richness in this poem...I am surprised at myself that I seriously love this write....
