I Need A Friend

Contributed by pixie on Thursday, 1st July 2004 @ 09:48:04 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Feel a bit blue today,
My heart has not got much to say,
Although it beats, it hangs low,
The day is going by so slow.

Want someone to talk to,
Chase away these feelings of blue,
Right now I could do with a friend,
Who has an ear or shoulder to lend.

Theres no reason for me to smile,
My happiness has gone out of style,
One day Im up, then Im down,
Someone keeps knocking off my crown.

Why is no-one here for me,
I feel alone but nobodies here to see,
You always seem to be at work,
Every time Im feeling hurt.

I tell you that I feel depressed,
That I cant even face getting dressed,
But you dont seem like you care,
You dont know how I feel when youre not there.

I sit & wait for you to come home,
Im so fed up of feeling alone,
You say you understand but you dont
I know that this isnt your fault.

I tried to talk to you last night,
But I was quickly losing the fight,
As all you did was fall asleep,
So my sadness had to keep.

How I wish you understood,
That sometimes I just feel no good,
Even though I feel very sad,
Our relationships the best Ive ever had.

You make me happy, depression makes me cry,
I want to live forever, but I also want to die,
Please come home I need a hug,
Help me out of this hole thats been dug.

My days would be exactly the same way if I didn't have my job. It's one of the best things that's ever happened to me. It gets me out and about for hours every day, keeps me busy, I love it to bits, and my coworkers are all awesome people.

Just food for thought. I never thought having a job would be so good for me.

This poem is so sad. And I can relate to it so much!

I always think great writing can stir an emotion in the reader. All you need do is look at the previous comments for this piece to see how emotions have been stirred.

Even in such sadness, you still write so beautifully.
