And I Rose

Contributed by TheReturnOfx7 on Thursday, 1st July 2004 @ 08:53:36 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

Here I am, and I rose
I rose not for my intentions to juxtapose
Didnt trade everything that was real
For the constant inability to feel

I never traded away the dreams I wanted to see
For even the shortest moment of drugged up ecstasy
I held tight to what I believe, and still do to this day
And my faith will remain unbroken, no matter what you say

Here I am, and still I rise
My eyes firmly focused on my prize
And no more will I play dead or lay down
No more will I wear damnations crown

Never more your scared deer in the headlights
Your non-stop taunting no longer plagues my nights
And I rose above it all, the infections you tried to pass on
As now you stand in my shadow, your bettered by your spawn

BRAVO!!!!! Never lay down and let someone kick you to death or take away your dreams. No matter how far we may fall there is always up to reach for. It is so great to hear this from someone. Most let life and others take away their inner strength and just lay down and accept defeat because they are told they cannot ever succeed. I commend your strength.

Smiles,
Rita
