Beast

Contributed by ArdRi79 on Friday, 2nd July 2004 @ 11:59:10 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

See a bloodlust in waiting eyes,
dead, staring in the sockets
of a contorted featureless face
as a flicking tongue slithers across green teeth

The entangling smell of putrid flesh
coils in your throat, twisting intestine
now choking and vomiting, blinded by tears
listening in darkness for shallow breath

a punch for rancid guts pulls back a fist of bowels
cold and squirming with decaying life
revealing an exposed rotting heart
slowly beating in anticipation

the sterilised cage rattles shut
but there's no one to hear
the beasts muffled screams as it dies pleading

I'm sorry about what happened to you. Stuff like that shouldn't be allowed to happen to anyone.

The imagery in your poem is very vivid and the point is well made.

OH! That's terrible, [Not the poem, the poem was fantasic...] but what your father did to you...I hope you're doing alright. *hugs* It takes a very brave person to be able to write about these kinds of things, I have a lot of respect for you. Best of luck! This was so wonderfully written, by the way....wonderful imagery. 5/5
Katie
