Flava

Topic: Lifepoems

Vibrant scented black girl got flava
So many smells mixed up in just her hair
The cinnamon stuck pungent, stinky, exciting
Like a flash of pink panties at cheerleading practice
The ginger spilled by accident
She was unexpected but awaited just the same
Across the plain plain she came
Full of flavorful fanfare
Her face, any varied almond extract shade
Her arms full of soothing nutmeg
Garlic under her armpits
Salt sometimes out of her eyelids
Leaking from crystal tear ducts
Bitter cocoa fingers carried each breath of brown sugar
With the jiggle of her ethereal posterior
While the dead, dry, rancid pranced dully around her
Its raindance fell unheard
She smelled like real live life
And held the key to it captive
Wrapped in a sheet of waiting tastebuds
Cayenne sprinkled on her feet
She danced back at it
The lemon meringue extract that rang in her ears
Caramel hips swayed caliente
Throat full of raw vanilla
She sings unheard of
And even the birds in the trees
Taste jasmine and hyacinth mint julep
in the wind of her song
Strong as ginger
Subtle as paprika
Her arms wide full of spice
And life
Cinnamon life
Dancing in her hair
