A mother's burden, Lord knows she is hurting. A mother tries to be your best friend, But you won't allow the arguments to end. A mother's burden, She is working, To get you what you want, But you can't even bring in an excellent report card. A mother's burden, Lord knows she is hurting, It hurts her to see you hurt yourself, But you refuse to let her get you some help. The drugs is getting to you, Your mother doesn't even know what to do. Lies after lies, She can't see what the drugs are Doing in your eyes. A mothers burden, She speaks, You lie, She speaks, You pretend to cry, She speaks, The day you die. A mothers burden, Lord knows she still hurting, If only you took your mother's burden away, You would still be here... today. A mothers burden....
