called out loud to make sure words were all you wanted unable to give you more at least at the moment settled in my habits as much as I hate them comfort in familiarity the reverse of contempt so I am a hypocrite I apologize profusely disturbing you late at night you were awake anyway tossing and turning with regret trying to convince yourself you'll have another chance at life I consider giving up all together we bolster each other's opinions introduce laughter to darkness each one sighs well out of sight of the other thinking we could be great together conversations, rampant desires glow in cigarettes blue smoky haze until 3 AM when we retire how easily we fit together my fingers trace your collar bone I can see you smiling in the dark I whisper, "I love you"
