Differences Between Us

Contributed by Gentledove on Tuesday, 6th July 2004 @ 02:54:48 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

The difference between you and the difference between me,
is not as different as it may seem.
The color of your eyes, the texture of your hair,
is a difference that we should not compare.
I can walk, you're confined to a wheelchair,
You have nice clothes, mine are threadbare.
Your skin is dark, mine is pale,
You are a man, I am a female.

With all of the differencess between you and I,
There is a sameness that does apply.
We both laugh and also cry,
When life is hard, we need an ally.
We can love and feel deep pain,
When we are cut, we bleed the same.
All of us have one, it's how we proclaim,
I am me, I have a name.
So in the end, it's all the same,
The difference between us shouldn't mean a thing.

The only differences that matter should be differences in the heart and soul. Those components need to closely match for a solid relationship. All the other things are just whitewashed facade. Good luck. Your work is great.

Smiles,
rita

Boy if this isn't the truth...fat, thin, ugly, pretty, short, tall, black, white....no matter if it's a love relationship, a friendship or politics..everyone bleeds the same, we all cry and laugh, we all have emotions. Nice write

I love this post. You've expressed yourself very well here. So much we can learn from one another, if we only took time. Looking past the outer into the inner soul. Very good write.

Glo!
