One Silent Scream

Contributed by 2ndChance on Tuesday, 6th July 2004 @ 08:45:20 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

She holds the silver, sharp knife,
to her withered arms.
Veins protruding,
the rivers of life flowing.
Beneath pale skin,
holds the lies.
The secret.
The self-disgust.
Re-opening the wounds,
careful to carve,
only where they won't be noticed.
Slowly.
Gaining speed with each phase of anger.
Depression.
Insanity.
Too many times,
has this been a tool been used,
to release the pressure,
of adolesent pain.
One last streak of blood,
to calm the nerves.
Too deep.
Too late.
With her last gaping breathes,
as she drops the silver, sharp knife,
She releases one silent scream.
Which everyone hears.
