One day, I was sittin' by my window watchin the rain fall down and thinkin' about the old days.
Little feet and Grandma's big hat. Daddy's strong arms and Mama's strong heart.
My feet aren't so little anymore and Grandma's hat lies in the corner all alone. Daddy's arms aren't there anymore but Mama's heart she gave to me to keep.

A very nice write. I love that your mom gave you her heart to keep.

In a sense this was lovely, lovely because of the obviously happy memories it contains. But I also found this sad because so much has changed from those memories. Its like going to the home of your childhood and standing outside and looking at how it has been changed and there was nothing you could do about it.
Great write,
Dom |
