Placement of Passion

Contributed by liquidsunshine on Wednesday, 7th July 2004 @ 08:18:19 AM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

Love the rain for the sprightly smile it brings benignly to your face
---Not solely or simply for the way the droplets dance upon the drum of your chest

Love ALL of the droplets that drip delightfully downward
---Not only those that happen to gently graze or gracefully glimmer upon your skin

Love the thunder for the prowess it possesses
---Not purely for the palpable pulsation that pierces your heart

Love the lightning for its fleeting, fiery, quickly quipping quirks
---Not merely for no more than its glitzy glamour and goldenrod guise

Love the wind for the way it wittingly whisks its whimsical whispers across your wits
---Not well for the warmly welcomed and wonderful weakness it wrings on oneself

Love the hail for the harmonious heartbeat that hammers happily, hardly holding back
---Not totally for the trifling tender tree-branch that splinters swiftly at one sheer stroke

Love the puddle for the cool, calm collection of crystalline conviction and consideration of its core
---Not completely for the cold, comforting caress or cuddle that comes quietly with coyness

Love the clouds for impending innocent ardor of their acquired abundance of adoration
---Not entirely for the way that they sometimes seem ethereal airy or exquisite

Love the real and radiant rarity of the rainbow
---Not simply the simpering superficiality and smoldering sensation of the storm

For the rainbow reigns over the realm of reality long after the rage of the roaring rainstorm retreats
---And isnt the rainbow that which we wish would weather and withstand the worlds worrisome ways?

Yes, love the rainbow and savor the simple sweetness of its sun kissed serenity
---For the rainbow is a rare and reluctant reward that is revealed only by those ready for and worthy of reception

Special thanks to those who helped me in the forums

Do I smell a bit of alliteration in here somewhere...?
Nice job! This was really very artistic, and well-said. Bravo!

Beautiful words to describe your love of God's joyous downpours. I really enjoyed this. The rainbows and the smell after the rain...the wetness of the grass on bare feet. Ah, you have brought it all back to me.

Alliterations were marvelous, as was this piece. But, that's to be expected by now. Wonderful, my friend,
