Artificial Intelligence

Topic: MiscPoems

You're probably expecting me to write something about robots
If that's the case then on this occasion you're mistaken
I'm going to write about human life
And the way it is created and taken

From our POV artificial means something man-made
Is that not true in our case?
Does that mean we are merely artificial?
Or that we were meant to reproduce and conquer as the dominant race?

Our views of life are merely theories created by much observation
And since we have no psychic powers (most of us) we can't tell if it's true
We think dogs can't see colors, cuz of all the tests we've done
But maybe, just maybe, they see a brand new side of blue

When something is artificial, we can create and destroy it with ease,
Isn't that the way with human life, a mere bullet through the heart?
We seem to be able to bend the wills of everything around us, including other species of life
Some of us think just cuz we're sentient that we were destined to rule from the start...

But with our resources quickly depleting, and our countries on the edge of war
Our power is decreasing by the minute along with what little resolve we have for peace
I just hope that we can cope and adapt....
Without tearing up this beautiful planet, piece by little piece...

A wonderful poem. I enjoyed your write. How great it is to see someone like yourself with convictions and to stand up for them. Poetry is a way to express oneself, and I enjoy all poetry.
