My Safe Place

Contributed by ShannyBananny on Wednesday, 7th July 2004 @ 08:18:48 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

Theres a place I go every night
A place very special to me
Its one of the most important things in my life
And Im sure youd agree

It holds many memories
Some not fit to share
But mostly of dreams and dreams come true
And times when Ive needed care

Its seen a few different boyfriends
Its seen many special nights
Its seen late night phone conversations
And unfortunately some terrible fights

I lay there when Im sick
Until Im feeling well
It lets me throw things at it when Im mad
And hears me scream and yell

Its been there for me to cry on
To protect me when Im scared
Its always been there for me
And I know its always cared

It never judges or criticizes me
It never says a word
Its helped me out a lot in life
It has healed, taught, and cured

Sometimes when I feel bad
I go under the covers and hide
When Im there no one can hurt me
In its shelter I confide

Ive slept in it every night
Since I was a little girl
Its been my safe place to go
My refuge from the world

Its where I go when Im tired
Its where I lay my head
Its big and blue and comfy
Thats right, its my bed
