oh, why must I love you in silence?
why must I keep my true feelings in?
holding them back like a child holds a stuffed toy
I can never win
why must you only converse with me
when nobody else is around?
I want to be at a place with you
where all I can hear is the sound
of your voice encircling me
soothing, healing my soul
and healing all my heartache
from the fear that you'll never know
how much I long to hold you tight
and how I'd love to kiss you
and how when you're not present, baby
just how much is miss you
damn this thing you can't survive without
damn this thing called love
oh, how I wish we could fly, you and I
away on the wings of a dove
I want to take a walk with you
in the dark, sacred night
and let my lips caress yours
and kiss you with all my might
I long to do all this
but then I realize, no
no, this could never really happen
only in daydreams and nightscapes
will my fantasies ever occur
and the sadness rushes over me
and I collapse from the pain
kiss you? oh, I would
but the knowledge has fallen on me
that I may never do so
unless I turn my life
into those daydreams and nightscapes
I may never do so
