two girls, two women...UNMET

Contributed by hannahbanana on Thursday, 8th July 2004 @ 12:41:48 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

feel the tears invade me
two little girls
now two women stand
divided
once so close
what made it so?
who drew the line first?
i fear my faults
i fear that i should admit
what is a worst case scenario?
did i inflict this upon myself?
who knows but you
and i...?
and i, i feel so lost today
questioning myself
into endless hours
that become thursday
thursday's woe.
i have been too distant
too indifferent
too sad
too myself
for you to want to know?
oh here i am
there you are
each day pulling us
into the ranks of strangers
embracing the silence that has grown and continues to
in the absence of two girls
who grew up
and became two women
unmet.
