The Wedding Cake

The Wedding Cake

As you go through life on this earth there will rise
Within your hearts such a wonderful prize,
A desire for marriage, a husband, a wife,
Someone to cherish the rest of your life.
As the ingredients in a bowl will be mixed and combined
To make this cake of such grandeur, entwined,
Your love will grow and blossom and rise
As the chords of beauty to strengthen the ties
Of unity, togetherness, loyalty true
Care and compassion in all that you do.
As God, the ingredients made, He then blessed
His new creation and commanded the best,
Each layer twill rise as the chapters unfold
Upon your life's journey as colors of gold
And under each level the pillars will stand
To give strength and character, and then the Hand
Of the Maker, with each level complete
Will crown His creation, a glorious feat,
And place at the top the groom and bride
That will stand together, side by side,
And then, alas, the final touch
To make this cake of grandeur, such,
A work of art will then be seen
Of stately beauty in the green
Of leaves with petals of yellow hue
A ring of gold, twill then be two,
These placed around the edges there
Of each layer so good and fair.
To mark it's glory through the years
A spring of water then appears
And bursts up with unending spray
Like love, twill never fade away.
So on this your day behold
This matchless gem of white and gold
And keep it in your memory clear
For the Creator, His smile is near.

That is the most beautiful wedding cake I have ever visualized, and I thought mine was beautiful. Your imagery is outstanding.

Smiles,
Rita
