my bed time story

Contributed by loopylou on Friday, 9th July 2004 @ 11:38:08 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I'm so tired I'm going to give up and fall asleep
and hope I fall so very deep
I can't keep my eyes open now
but I still manage to clutch this pen somehow
in hope for a nice dream

I don't know what I think
or how you think of me
but I know there isn't just a once of normality
and I know waking up
will only mean I have to pretend to be happy

I suppose I'm fake
but people give a little
only to take
and I've fallen behind
I'm loosing track of life
I'm driving and I've crashed
and as far as words travel
I can't take them back...
so now I'm slipping
like I've done so many times before
I finally close my eyes
anticapating the waking
forseeing another failed attempt to try.

It would seem that artists, poets, are really tortures souls. I feel like this so much. Like you have a part of yourself that fits perfectly in the social interactive world. Then there is the other part that feels like an outsider and not so excited about making many attempts to form itself into an inclusive part of the world. I think all creative people feel like that. The side effect to analyzing everything available.
