The Path Youre On
-------------------
The path youre on might bring you riches,
Might bring you attention and incredible fame.
The path youre on might make you noticeable,
Making you a house hold name.
The path youre on might find you friends,
Drinking buddies and social pests
The path youre on might make you feel,
Like youre better than all the rest.
The path youre on might bring you happiness,
If only for a little while.
The path youre on darkens the future,
For youre living in the now.
The path youre on needs no explaining,
For its really easy to see.
The path youre on is leading to a place,
That takes you further from me.
The path youre on brings me sadness,
Its difficult to watch you go.
The path youre on is undetermined,
Its future no one can know.
The path youre on I can not change,
Only you can choose the road.
But the path youre on leads to nowhere,
And thats not something that youre owed.
How I wish I could save you,
From the path I know youre on.
For Im afraid in my heart,
That this path will bring your harm.
